The practical questions

Before you bring it home.

How hard is setup?

Connect your source, connect Seratone to your TV or sound system, plug in your microphones, and sing. Most permanent setups only need to be wired once.

What does HDMI passthrough preserve?

When Seratone is off, its HDMI 2.0 bypass leaves the source signal untouched, including 4K video, HDR and Dolby Vision, and surround formats such as Dolby Atmos. In karaoke mode, the picture is preserved and audio switches to stereo so Seratone can mix in the microphones. HDMI 2.1-only modes such as 4K at 120 Hz and 8K at 60 Hz are not supported.

Can I use the music apps built into my TV?

Yes. Seratone supports HDMI ARC. Connect HDMI OUT to your TV's HDMI ARC or eARC port and hold the power button to switch into ARC mode. Your TV's own apps, or anything you cast to it, become the music source, with your microphones mixed in over that one cable.

Will I need to install firmware updates?

No. Seratone is purpose-built hardware rather than a Wi-Fi smart device, and it does not require firmware updates or an app to keep working.

Do I need special songs or another subscription?

No. Use Apple Music Sing, Spotify Sing Mode, YouTube, Karafun, Smule, or the karaoke app you already prefer.

Will it work with my speakers?

Seratone supports HDMI, stereo RCA, and optical output. That covers TVs, soundbars, home-theatre receivers, powered speakers, and studio monitors.

Can I use wireless microphones or more than two mics?

Seratone has two independently controlled microphone inputs. Wired dynamic microphones and wireless systems with an analog XLR or quarter-inch output work; Seratone itself has no Bluetooth. A compatible receiver or adapter can combine additional microphones into one input, but they will share that input's level control. Microphones requiring 48V phantom power are not supported.
